About NFPA 45

NFPA 45: The Standard on Fire Protection for Laboratories Using Chemicals is the comprehensive source for requirements for the fire-safe design and operation of instructional, educational, and industrial laboratories to avoid injury to lab occupants. The standard specifies that in educational and instructional laboratories where experiments are conducted by students, instructors are responsible for providing adequate personal protective equipment required for the experiment and that FR clothing used shall meet the requirements of NFPA 2112.
